13.45 Scott Prentice:
ScotRail Strategy and Planning Director, will update us on progress on Scotland’s Railway, including ticketing initiatives like Tap&Pay, Inter7City and other rolling stock replacement plans, timetable strategy and usage trends following re-imposition of peak fares. Followed by questions and answers.
14.15 Matt Powell:
Head of Route Sponsorship, Network Rail, will cover Scotland route developments including platform extensions on the West Highland line, resignalling plans for Aberdeen-Central Belt lines, and the rolling electrification programme to East Kilbride, Fife, Borders. Measures to address the effects of climate change will also be described. Followed by questions and answers.
14.45 Dr. Ann Glen MBE:
Dr Glen will recount the fascinating history of the genesis of Scottish Railways from the 1824 Monkland & Kirkintilloch Railway Act and E&G opening in 1842 onwards, marking the early period of the first 200 years of railways in Scotland.
15.15 SAPT Annual Report.
Transport integration, bus co-ordination and SPT bus franchising, Great British Railways, East Coast new timetable, ClydeMetro, HS2, ferries and the new SAPT website have been topics covered by the SAPT committee outlined in the annual report to be presented in this session.
